Šišman Ibrahim Pasha mosque

It was built in 1562 - 1563 and represents one of the most successful realizations of the classic Ottoman style of one-room under-domed mosques. The entrance to the mosque is decorated with a very beautiful carved double door, above which there is a richly decorated portal. A special type of cypress grows in the mosque courtyard, which is said to be older than the mosque itself, brought all the way from Lebanon. The Hajji Alija mosque was built in 1563 by one "hajji-Alija, son of Musa; as recorded on the inscription above the entrance door. In the 17th century the mosque was repaired by Šišman Ibrahim pasha, and has been known since then by the locals as the Šišman Ibrahim pasha mosque
